AFRICAN EYE
African Eye
In black and white they come
Maybe a little brown and white
My beauty is in my color
I blend well with the dark
some may call me black
But I have a light ,My color just makes it bright.
My brows form trees with beautiful branches
As they sway their hips to the breeze.
I see the ocean dance
All the great resources endowed as gift.
Africa our continent of love
A home for all, Come one, come all
And behold my beauty
I have a look of a woman in pain
Cause I have my good and bad days
Sometimes I bring tears, As I behold my continent
Our continent, full of life
Enslaved because we're black
Our color a cause of racism and lies
We found no reason to be proud
Cause we rather appear as white.
We are threaded upon by our past
Cause the present refuse to accept the future.
Africa, pride of nature
The beauty radiates in your favour
All the leaves grow in grace
Blessed with great nations
Arise let others see your glory
The beauty in the dim.
Africa, my Africa I see
A brand new morn I dream
Eyelid cover me
As I rest in peace
And hope to see Africa arise.
